Men's Move Of The Year
Winner: Julian Wilson’s J-Bay Alley-Oop
A close one to call, this. John John’s has the most drama — occurring as it did in a heat with both Kelly and Gabes; landing as he does no more than a yard away from a duckdiving Medina, as if to say: “You just go ahead and win your world title, I am quite content winning hearts and minds.” But Filipe’s and Julian’s were probably the better airs, and between these two there is very little to pick — the functionality of Filipe’s, perhaps, giving it the edge.
