Sunset Sons, in between shredding the wild surf and rockin the free world, got in touch with us to share their very own tips* for surviving life on the road as a successful touring band, in the highly unlikely event that you’re ever in one.

(*We made one up ourselves. See if you can guess which…)

1. Always take a spare shirt for after the gig. You sweat up a storm on tour! There’s nothing worse than having to spend the rest of the night trying to enjoy a few rum and cokes in a sopping wet shirt.

2. NEVER go anywhere without your tour manager. He/she is the single most important piece of equipment you will have. Every good ship has a strong captain. We have RUSTY!

3. A good GPS will solve a world of headaches on the road. There is no fun in turning the wrong way onto a motorway and driving halfway back to St Ives!!

4. Guinness or beers ONLY before the show… save spirits for the afterparty. To survive on the road you have to put the gig before your rum and cokes.
