Hawaiian surfer Kaleo Robertson was surfing Maalaea off Maui with his twin 8-year-old sons and 6-year-old son last weekend when he noticed a disturbance in the water.
The disturbance happened to be a 14ft Tiger shark
“I slid off my board and it bit right where my leg was’ said Robertson, who has never had any shark encounters in 30 years of surfing previously. “I thought ‘It’s gonna kill me or eat my family.'”
Robertson rammed his surf board in the shark’s mouth and hit it twice, before gathering his kids and a nearby water photographer, and getting a wave to shore.
