Belharra didn’t do it today. Despite the loads of feet at very many seconds forecast, mountainous water did not quite yet arrive in the French Basque coast. Many men and one woman were assembled to tackle surfing’s biggest 45 degree angle, but alas the swell didn’t pick up after this afternoon’s 2.30pm low tide swing.

With all sorts of international gnarl lords in the neighbourhood including Twiggy and Jamie Mitchel, as well as a raft of Euro chargers, stay tuned to find out if someone indeed does paddle into the biggest of the biggies some 2km offshore of St Jean de Luz tomorrow. The forecast looks fairly promising…
