A violent squall swept through Peniche at breakfast time this morning. Sideways rain battered the windows at breakfast.
“I woke up, looked out the window, thought, ‘Sweet’ and rolled over and went back to sleep,” admitted reigning women’s World Champion Steph Gilmore to SE this afternoon. But shortly after the downpour the sun came out, winds were light-ish, and with a lay day called with slowly building 3-4ft peaks at Supertubos a freesurf session went down in front of the main contest site.
Luckily, we were on hand with the lastest and most expensive HD camera you can get and got some of event Wildcard Owen Wright having a warm up in the shifty peaks in the can. Enjoy.

Later in the day, in the media room at the hotel someone from a magazine/website got told off, but it wasn’t us.
Next call 8am tomorrow. Peace!
