Oct 5th-17th, Euskadi 2009 – The Billabong Pro Mundaka, Stop No. 8 on the 2009 ASP World Tour, will kick off next week at the picturesque site of Mundaka, Basque Country, Spain.

FORECAST

At present no swell is forecast for the beginning of the waiting period, but with the surf having been unusually small for the last two weeks in the Bay of Biscay, something big and meaty must be brewing on the horizon for the tail-end of the competition waiting period.

WORLD TITLE RACE BACK ON
After an exciting week of competition last week in France, the event announces to be a showdown between two surfers: Billabongs’ Joel Parkinson ( Australia ) sitting on top of the ASP ratings and Mick Fanning ( Australia ) with just a few points behind.

EUROPEAN PREMIERE OF “STILL FILTHY” PRESENTED BY OCCY!
Don’t miss the European premiere of “STILL FILTHY”, winner of the SURFER Poll Video Award, followed by cult movie “FILTHY HABITS”. Billabong will set up a giant screen in the middle of the village, broadcasting this two surfing movies mc’ed by 1999 Billabong Pro Mundaka winner and former world champ Mark ( Occy ) Occhilupo and guests!

Billabong Team Riders Signing Session at the Contest Site
