So the hipsters are coming to the south-west of France, according to a New York Times blog that featured the above quote. Now we are not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing. The whole hipster movement is confusing. Is it just a bunch of image driven pretentious fools trying to polish an authenticity turd? Or is it idealistic young surfers searching for a new creative path? Cyrus Sutton from Korduray TV  argued it best here , when commenting on Dane Reynolds, the poster boy of surfing hipsterdom.

Sutton concludes, “It is essential that we see past the trends or anti-trends, the stoke lies in learning from people who live their lives connected to a practical reality beyond the chatter of people  bashing “hipsters” on their blogs or buying a lifestyle just to look cool.”

In opposition to Cyrus’ sound reasoning, the Bondi Hipsters Dom and Adrian’s infamous youtube clips probably best skewer the worst excess of hipsterdom.

As Dom says, “It’s exactly why we dress so cool, cause we don’t give a shit about not giving a shit.”
