From 11th-14th 2012 the 2nd annual London Surf / Film Festival hits the UK again. Hosted at the iconic Riverside Studios on the banks of the Thames, the festival  provides one of Europe’s most accessible and creative surf happenings.

“We were stoked with the response to last year’s event,” says Festival Director Chris Nelson. “Across 3 nights we hosted 10 packed out premieres of 2011’s most exciting international films and homegrown shorts as well as Q+A’s and talks with some of surfing’s leading lights including filmmakers Keith Malloy and Adam Pesce and publisher and producer Vince Medeiros. This year we’ve grown the event organically.”

For 2012, the LS/FF is bringing to the capital 4 nights of international surfing’s hottest releases, underground hits, independent features and UK Premieres from established filmmakers and emerging artists as well as the best short film productions from Britain and Ireland. Alongside the screenings will be Q+A sessions, talks and workshops, the Approaching Lines room for makers and doers, plus gallery, music and more, making this the must-attend event for purveyors of the glide.

Submissions are now open and the programme encourages entries from across the globe and across surfing genres and formats (from documentary to stop-frame to animation and anything in between) so don’t be shy.

Films selected for screening as part of the international programme will be judged in categories including LS/FF Best Film, Best Documentary and Best Cinematography, as chosen by the screening panel, comprised of experts from within the worlds of surfing, filmmaking and media. Films will also be competing for the coveted London Surf / Film Festival Viewer’s Choice award.
