The official waiting period for the Eddie starts Dec 1st (runs until 28th Feb), during which time the most regal of big wave lords ready their rhino chasers to ride The Bay, should she get big enough. This year the invitees once again include Jeremy Flores who would love a chance to test his mettle against the world’s most revered straighthander.

Bu La’ia once famously said ‘They call it the Quiksilver in Memory of Eddie, but it should be The Eddie in Memory of Quiksilver…’ Whatever you call it, let’s hope it runs.
