Yesterday I called Lee-Ann Curren at exactly 1pm. 13h, as they say around here.

A massive no-no in terms of phone call etiquette, of course.

‘You’re not eating are you?’ (What a ridiculous thing to say… As if anyone in France is not eating at 1pm on a Monday…)

‘Yes I am.’

(Awkward…)

‘But it’s OK I’m alone, go ahead…’

Then we chatted. It was about a brief I’m writing for a project about her.

What I didn’t do was ask her about the recent trip to Japan and surfing Curren’s Point of ’92 typhoon swell fame.

So I guess I’ll just watch the vid…
