Parko makes it straight through to the quarters and another keeper result, at worst replacing a 9th with a 5th: “That heat was really important,” the three-time runner-up said. “I’m dropping a 9th and replacing it with a 5th or better now. Tomorrow’s a new day and there’s still a lot of work to do. It’s great to have the title come down to Pipe. It’s the best thing to be in it for Pipe and it’s good for surfing.”
The Santa Cruz freaks came out to watch the 1st day of high performance ripping at the Coldwater Classic with a fun two to four foot on offer at the Lane. As the second to last event on tour this year, the pressure be building on those still in world title contention and weirdly Parko looks strongest.
