Cornishman Seb Smart sails loftily through the garlic-scented French air at Anglet Plage. The photographer is Barcelona’s Carles Medina, who spent a few days this October with an amalgam of Narval Wetsuits and Globe riders that also included Dion Agius and Brendon Gibbens. Naturally, giant fuck-off punts — mostly of the throw-away variety — were the order of the day, but while it was unquestionably Dion who punted highest out of everyone, Carles was quick to point out that the lad from Sennen didn’t look the slightest bit out of place in such illustrious company. “He flipado!” he said of Seb’s ability both in air and on the wave face. We typed that into Google Translate, and apparently it means: “Fuck me this Englishman surfs good!”
