Scientists Hunt Great Whites off UK Coast

Using the carcass of a ten tonne humpback whale, marine biologists are hoping to film local shark populations in UK waters for a Ben Fogle-fronted series to be shown on ITV.

Expecting blue sharks and hammerheads, but hoping for Great Whites, Dr Andrew Brownlow, director of Scottish Marine Animal Stranding Scheme said:

“The thing about great whites is they are able to maintain their body temperature so they can exist in slightly colder waters.

It’s not improbable they are around here.”

The crew, who set off from Devon yesterday with the whale in tow, will float the corpse 35 miles offshore, between Wales and Ireland, in what is known as the Celtic Deep – directly offshore from some of Pembrokeshire’s most popular surf spots like Freshwest.

Now, we know what you’re all thinking… Ben Fogle! What a tool.
