TED, as you’re probably at least vaguely aware, is a nonprofit devoted to the spreading of ideas via short presentations known as TED Talks, each talk delivered by a leading expert in a particular field. Chris Burkard is a leading expert in the field of surf photography — particularly where freezing cold temperatures are concerned — but it wasn’t until Surf Europe confirmed him as one of the 10 most awesome surf photographers to follow on Instagram that TED thought, “yeah, you know what, let’s give the cunt a shot.”
